If you haven’t come across 3191 Miles Apart before, you’re in for a treat. MAV and Stephanie write weekly about their thoughts and inspirations. The site is not quite a blog and not quite a magazine. They don’t allow comments, which is very unusual in our interactive web 2.0-obsessed society, but I love taking a break from the constant flow of instant information to see what they’ve come up with. The photographs are always gorgeous and the articles are thoughtfully written. Highly recommended!

I’ve put together a brand new design to go with my brand new content. I meant to do it over my uni break, but I got so excited that I spent most of my weekend working on it.

It’s slightly less white than usual, and was designed around the fact that I really wanted a yellow and white striped background. I’ve also gone through and re-organised the tags and categories for easy access to all my knitting stuff (which at the moment accounts for about 95% of my posts!) If all you want is knitting content, go here.
Please let me know what you think! I’ll hopefully have something new and exciting to talk about tomorrow, but for now, I hope you’ve all had (or are having) a great weekend!

When I first started knitting, I saw it as an excuse to start a blog, something I’d always wanted to get back to. These days, I’m not knitting as much, but I do want to get back into blogging. I’ve been looking for a new outlet for my creativity recently, and reinventing my blog seems like the perfect thing. I’ve been reading lots of design, fashion and style blog recently, and I’m planning to take inspiration from that and blog about everything I love: books, dresses, cupcakes, photography and anything else that strikes my fancy. There will still be knitting, but it won’t be the main focus of my blog. At the end of the day, this is something that’s been in the back of my mind since I purchased my domain and was careful not too get anything too knitting-focused.
Starting next week, I’m planning to start posting more often. I’m aiming for daily, but that won’t always be possible. And of course, that means that the posts won’t always be long. I’ve also got a new design up my sleeve, but I’m not sure when that’ll be ready to publish (if things are looking off in the meantime, it’s probably because I’m fiddling with Wordpress).
Im under no illusions that I have a big readership, but I do know that there are some people out there who seem to enjoy what I have to say. At the end of the day, however, my blog is something that I do for myself, not anybody else. I hope you’ll still enjoy my blog in its new form. If you think this is a horrible idea, please let me know! I’d love to hear from you.

A couple of days ago, I logged on to find that Sam had nominated me for the “You make my day” award that’s going around the blogosphere at the moment. I was thrilled since I’ve never been nominated for any of these things before and her sweet comments made me smile. The rules are the usual, 10 blogs that make my day, so here they are, off the top of my head and in no particular order. I’m sorry if I forget anyone! {More}
And according to my very scientific method of writing names on slips of paper, chucking them in the nearest container and having Jamie draw one with his eyes closed, the winner is:

So, Mary, please email your shipping address (and chocolate preferences!) to me at elin[dot]berglund[at]gmail[dot]com and I’ll have the yarn in the post later this week.
And, if anybody’s still interested in my middle name, it’s Sofie. There were a couple of guesses for Sofia/Sophia, but no Sofie/Sophies!
