Snowflakes

I usually don’t follow celebrity style, but occasionally, I’ll get obsessed with the “star style” threads on The Fashion Spot. As a result, I’ve decided that Michelle Williams is the celebrity whose wardrobe I’d most like to raid. She seems to be fond of all the brands I love and only sometimes manage to afford, like A.P.C. and Steven Alan. I’m particularly taken with this vest from the Steven Alan men’s collection a couple of years ago.

In fact, I love it so much I’ve decided to copy it. I’ve charted out the snowflake in Excel and have purchased my very first Cascade 220. The back is coming along nicely, so hopefully I’ll have a cute vest to show off soon.

Coveted

If you’ve met me in person, you’ll know that dresses are by far my favourite thing to wear. I’ve got quite the collection, but I can’t help drooling over dresses online, especially not the beautiful ones that are out of my price range. In my imaginary life as a millionaire and lady of leisure, these dresses from Rachel Comey and No. 6 hang in my wardrobe.

Maska

As a knitter, I sometimes feel like I have to knit all my knitwear. If I buy a cardigan, a scarf or a pair of wool socks, I’m somehow cheating. But at the end of the day, there are things that I love but can’t do myself and there’s nothing wrong with buying a machine knit once in a while. I love woven scarves and thin cardigans, and I’m not about to buy a loom or knit all my sweaters in laceweight on 000s.

It’s particularly nice to see products for a company that appreciates the art of knitting as much as I do, like these beautiful cardigans from Swedish company Maska. They use only quality materials, and with free international shipping and 20% VAT deducted on orders outside the EU, I’m awfully tempted by that navy number.

The new Lyell collection has been popping up in my blog reader every other day this week. I’m usually not a fan of varigated yarns for sweaters, but this photo makes me tempted to break all my rules. Of course, with my luck, the yarn would probably pool horribly. I might just be distracted by the beautiful photography.

I love dresses

It’s not my usual style, but I keep coming back to stare at this dress. It’s technically a spring dress, but wouldn’t it look just as great with black tights and boots?
