Learning to spin

New: I’m teaching myself to spin. This is one of those things I never would have thought I’d do, but was drawn into by the blogosphere. If you’d told me a year ago I’d want to learn to spin, I would have laughed. I didn’t even knit then. If you’d told me six months ago, I would have been skeptical. I’m really loving the process though. Louet Spindle and Jade Corriedale fiber courtesy of Hello Yarn.

First plied yarn!

My first attempt at plying. Lumpy and uneven, just like my singles, but I’m having so much fun.

Chocolate chocolate chip

Old: is there any better afternoon tea than double chocolate chip cookies straight out of the oven? My favourite cookie recipe is here. Super rich and indulgent, but oh-so-good.

That’s really funny about the spinning – I NEVER thought I’d want to spin. And then all of the sudden, I was really interested in it, and now I have 3 wheels…

So impressive! Spinning, now that’s dedication.
That turquoise is amazing too.
