Good progress, bad progress and completely off-topic

I think I’m well overdue for an update, so here I am. I’ve been knitting relatively steadily for the past week or so, on a few different projects.

My main project at the moment is Maude Louise. I’ve almost finished the back, but it’s in limbo at the moment as I try to decide what to do with it. See, I was happily knitting, I finished the first ball of yarn and attached the second. After about 10 cm, I saw that it was noticably darker than the first ball. Yes, they are from the same dyelot.

As you can see, it just looks weird. I’m quite annoyed at myself for being lazy and not alternating between two different balls from the start and I don’t know what to do about it. Can I save it or should I just rip it out? Otherwise, I’m really happy with the way it’s turning out, I’ve changed the lattice pattern on the waist to a lacy pattern and I love the the way it looks. The colour is beautiful and I love the slight variations as it knits up (of course, I’d love it even more if the skeins didn’t vary quite as much). I might just leave it for now and start knitting up one of the fronts while I decide what to do (I always feel better frogging when I’ve still got some progress). Of course, Malabrigo isn’t the most froggable (is that even a word) yarn.

My Monkey socks, however, are going well and I’m almost about to turn the heel on the second one. I haven’t made much progress on anything else, I’ve done a few cm on Clessidra, but it’s such a time-consuming pattern and I’m not sure I love it just enough to keep going. I might put that on the backburner for a while. I’ve also been thinking about all the things I want to make in the future and have worked up quite a long to-knit list. Two cardigans (apart from Maude Louise), a vest, at least five pairs of socks (not including the ones in progress), a shawl (even though I’m not much of a shawl person, they’re gorgeous and I want to make one). And those are just the things that are on the top of my list and I have the yarn and other things worked out for (if not already bought).
