So, Socktoberfest and uni assignments have been keeping me busy for the last couple of weeks. So far, I’ve got seven single socks, and one and a half mate. Apparently, I’m pretending it’s autumn here in Australia too, because my colour choices are distinctly autumnal.
But, first, let’s continue reporting on the socks I’ve neglected to blog for months. Here’s my final Ravelympics pair, Fratello.
Fratello by Yarnissima knit from Wollmeise Sockenwolle in Fratello {More}
These socks are a mixed bag for me. I bought this as a kit, and although I like the pattern, I’m not sure the kit yarn does it justice. Although I usually frog anything that looks remotely like pooling, I decided to ignore it when I knit these socks. The result is that the intricate detail on the foot and leg gets lost in the colour changes. I do, however, love the construction of these socks. The toe-up gusset is such a great technique, even if it does make it difficult to judge the length of the socks accurately – these socks ended up a little bit too big.
It’s not all socks here though. My mind is starting to wander and I’m already planning my next sweater. Thankfully, NaKniSweMo is just around the corner!

You’re a sock knitting demon! I don’t know how you do it. We’re in to the second half of the month and I’ve managed half a sock – rubbish!
Oh, In do like those socks (all of ‘em)! The colour of the yarn just seems perfect for a sock called Fratello. Though it is disappointing that the strength of detail gets lost in the colourway, they still look great!
wow you’re such a speedy sock knitter! The autumnal palette of your socks are gorgeous
What a lovely circle of socks!! I love those Fratellos too – perfection!
In an eerie coincidence, I am wearing my pair of Mossy Twisted Tweed socks as I read this and admire your single. Spooky!
Your photography is always so beautiful and inspiring. I love your circle of socks photo.
