As you may or may not be aware, my boyfriend, James, has spent the last three weeks in China for work. Since I knew he’d be dealing with temperatures of -30°C, I jumped at the chance of finally knitting him something warm to wear.

It might not be the most exciting thing I’ve ever knit, but then man-knitting rarely is. And the result is exactly what he wanted, which is the most important thing. The MadTosh was beautiful to work with, and Jared’s pattern is such a great basic hat pattern, even without the stripes. I love the way the neat decreases form a square at the crown.
