Thanks so much for all your enthusiasm and well wishes on my previous post. I’m excited to start blogging again, and to share some of the other things I love with you all. First though, I thought I’d talk a bit about one of the projects I knit during my long absence.

Ishbel by Ysolda Teague knit with Handmaiden Casbah in Amber {More}
This pattern has been pretty popular for the past few months, so I’m sure most of you have come across it before. I knit the small size, which makes a perfect little scarf to wear under my coat. Of course, my favourite thing about it is the colour: the perfect golden yellow semi-solid shade. And if you haven’t used Casbah before, I highly recommend it. It’s one of my very favourite yarns to work with.

This entry is quite a bit shorter than my usual FO posts, but I’ve decided to do it this way so I actually get things up instead of procrastinating writing up a project for months. If I have more to say, I’ll say more, but for a simple accessory like this, all it really needs is a quick sum-up.
Amy recently blogged about the lack of WIP blogging lately, and I definately agree. I’m going to try to get back to blogging my WIPs, but for now here’s another FO.

Ene’s Scarf Ene’s Scarf by Nancy Bush from Scarf Style knit with Lorna’s Laces Helen’s Lace in Sage {More}
I cast on for this a few weeks ago, but for a while it was lying abandonned because the progress was just so slow. I guess that’s what comes from casting on 375 stitches. Once I halved that number, the knitting went surprisingly quickly. {More}
A day later than promised, but here is finally the full report on Frost Flowers & Leaves.

Frost Flowers and Leaves by Eugen Beugler from A Gathering of Lace knit from Sundara Silk Lace in Wine over Cherries {More}
Four months. Two thousand five hundred yards of pure silk. Two hundred thousand stitches. {More}

I’m about halfway there on the edging and it’s boring and time-consuming, but I’m powering through. I’m estimating I “only” have another 17,000 stitches or so to go.
I’ve been back to uni for almost two weeks now and although my timetable sounds terribly slack, I’ve still been pretty busy. It always takes a while to get back into the swing of things, even though I like the return to a proper, productive routine. In between, I’m obsessively knitting on the shawl (with a few breaks for socks) and dreaming about winter and wool sweaters. I’ve been particularly drawn to jackety things lately, which is probably just a symptom of the ridiculously hot weather we’ve been having lately. Come on, it’s March! Summer should be over by now.
