Emelie (again)

22 August 2010 in Knitting / Tags: ,

It’s taken a while, but Emelie is finally available for purchase.

Emelie

Emelie is a classic cardigan that fits seamlessly into any wardrobe. With only two short shoulder seams, it works up quickly, while tailored details like a fake side seam, top-down sleeve caps and elegant lace panels make it stand out from the crowd.

The pattern is available in 12 sizes from 27 2/3 to 64″ (69.5 to 162.5 cm) and is divided into two separate files for ease of use. Each size is written for three lengths, with the sample shown in the shortest length. The length refers to the measurement from underarm to hem.

Emelie

24 July 2010 in Knitting / Tags: ,

After the great response I got to Cecilia, I knew I had to put some more of my design ideas into reality. The result is Emelie.

Emelie

This is actually old news by now, but I thought it deserved its own blog post. I was planning to publish the pattern in late July, but unfortunately, life got in the way. I started working full-time only a couple of weeks ago, and I’ve been spending every free moment obsessing over an epic birthday project. Since I want to make sure the pattern is the best it can be, I’ve decided to delay publication until next month. The pattern will now be available for download by mid to late August.

Emelie

So consider this a sneak peek.

Emelie

Emelie is a fitted cardigan with a simple lace panel running down the front. It is knit in one piece from the bottom up, with seamless 3/4-length sleeves knit from the top down.  The pattern will be available in 12 sizes, with bust measurements from 27″ to 64″. To achieve perfect fit, there is also the choice of three different body lengths for each size. I’ve knit the shortest length, but you can see the other versions in action by browsing my test knitters’ gorgeous versions on Ravelry.

For now, you can queue Emelie on Ravelry here. More details will be available soon!

After over a month and several rounds of test-knitting, Cecilia is finally ready to purchase.

Cecilia

Cecilia is sweet and sassy, and looks great on a number of different body shapes. I used Malabrigo Sock in Boticelli Red, but any number of yarns could work.

The pattern is knit in one piece from the top down, and combines raglan shaping with an all-over lace pattern. It is recommended for intermediate or advanced knitters.

Frankie by Kim Hargreaves from Breeze knit in Rowan Classic Pima Cotton in Badger {more details and pictures}

Sometimes I forget to write about my knitting, which feels pretty silly considering this blog first started as a knitting blog. But this weekend I finally got around to getting some pictures of a cardigan I’ve been wearing constantly since I finished it back in December. Meet Frankie. {More}
